DHARAMSHALA: Intense rainfall overnight led to significant disruptions in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, on Wednesday, with extensive damage reported across various areas.
Key locations in Bilaspur, such as Cinema Colony and the central market, experienced severe flooding, transforming roads into rivers. Shops around Chetna Chowk, Champa Park, and the bus stand were inundated, resulting in considerable financial losses for local businesses and residents.
Landslides Block Highways, Buses Stranded
Numerous landslides have impacted the district, particularly near the Bagchhal bridge and Samletu along the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway, significantly hindering traffic flow.
Several buses operated by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) became trapped in landslide debris in Rishikesh (Bilaspur), prompting authorities to initiate rescue and road-clearing operations. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes until the roads are cleared.
